Indoor Cargo Net Tunnel for Kids’ Active Play

Add adventure to your playroom with a Cargo Net Tunnel, sometimes called a rope tunnel or climbing net tunnel. Suspended from the ceiling, this double-layered net creates an inviting place for kids to climb, crawl, hang out and build strength through active play.

Hang it near monkey bars or an indoor climbing wall to create a challenging obstacle, or use it on its own as a cozy perch that's all their own. Kids can climb both inside and outside the tunnel, making it a versatile addition to an active playroom.

Each Cargo Net Tunnel features two layers of rope netting. The outer layer is made from ¾" diameter white rope with 9" mesh squares for climbing, while the smaller-mesh inner layer helps keep arms and feet inside the tunnel.

Why Kids Love a Cargo Net Tunnel

A cargo net brings a different kind of movement to an indoor playroom. Kids can approach it in multiple ways, creating new challenges as their confidence and skills grow.

  • Encourages active play: Kids can climb, crawl, hang and explore instead of playing with the feature in only one way.
  • Builds core and grip strength: Moving through and around the net engages the body while children hold, pull and stabilize themselves.
  • Creates an indoor climbing challenge: Add it near a climbing wall or monkey bars to create a more dynamic playroom obstacle course.
  • Supports imaginative play: A climbing tunnel can quickly become a fort, lookout, hideaway or part of whatever adventure kids dream up.
  • Offers a cozy hangout: When climbing time is over, the suspended tunnel doubles as a special perch to relax in.

Double-Layer Cargo Net Design

Our Cargo Net Tunnel features two layers of rope working together to create an engaging climbing surface.

The outer layer is made with 3/4-inch-diameter white rope and 9-inch mesh squares, giving kids the feel of climbing a traditional cargo net. A finer inner layer features 1 3/4-inch mesh squares and is securely fastened to the outer net.

The larger outer rope creates an inviting surface for climbing, while the smaller inner mesh helps keep arms and feet within the tunnel as kids move through it. The white Cargo Net Tunnel features blue flecks on the larger outer net.

Children can climb both inside and outside the cargo net, creating more ways to explore the same playroom feature.

Built for Indoor Playrooms

A Cargo Net Tunnel can become a centerpiece of an active playroom or part of a larger indoor climbing setup.

We especially love pairing it with:

  • Indoor climbing walls
  • Climbing wall panels
  • Active-play and obstacle-course areas
  • Padded playroom flooring
  • Other gross-motor play features

Positioning several active-play elements together gives kids different ways to move from one challenge to the next and keeps the playroom feeling fresh as their skills develop.
